For me the introduction of video games was Mario Bros. This game pretty much defined our childhood. This game was such a rage when we were kids. There used to be designated screen time even for us as kids where Mario bros almost instinctively used to be the game of choice for all friends. Well almost!!! Contra was the other one. Unlike today's generation for whom video games surpass outdoor games, our was polar opposite. But Mario definitely replaced board games for us. Amongst us friends we always fought as to who will be Mario as that determined one's chance to play first. BTW we managed to rescue the princess only once. Guess for us the steam went out after that since the challenge was overcome. But that happened much later and by then Mario had made its permanent place in our childhood and in our hearts.

This piece was a challenge just like how rescuing the princess was. Right from determining the sheer choice of colors to the blending of various layers. But what kept me going is the love for this franchise as well as the reason why this art piece was made in the first place. Soon to be revealed :)
